Is That ER Visit Necessary?

Summer is full of outdoor fun—but it can also bring bumps, bruises, cuts, and sprains. When an illness or injury happens, knowing where to go for care can save you time and money.

Visit an Urgent Care Clinic for non-life-threatening conditions

For example:

  • Minor cuts and burns
  • Sprains, strains, and simple fractures
  • Fevers, colds, and flu

Tip: To find an in-network Urgent Care Clinic near you, sign in to your account on regence.com, then save it to your phone before you need it.

Call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest ER if your injury or illness could be life-threatening

Seek emergency care for:

  • Severe bleeding that won’t stop
  • Chest pain or difficulty breathing
  • Sudden weakness, trouble speaking, or slurred speech

Remember, if you receive care for a life-threatening emergency at an out-of-network emergency department provider or facility, the “No Surprise Act” protects you from being charged for the difference between what the Plan pays and what the provider or facility charges.
